For an entire month, Fandi Mata became home to an inspiring celebration of contemporary art as Collectors and Martinis showcased the solo exhibition of New York City visual artist and poet Antonio Garcia. Curated & Hosted by Katrina Chiovon, the exhibition transformed the Brooklyn venue into a vibrant gathering place where art, culture, and community came together through a series of engaging events that welcomed collectors, creatives, and art enthusiasts alike.

Running from June 3 through June 30, 2026, the exhibition offered visitors an opportunity to experience Antonio Garcia's emotionally driven body of work while participating in weekly events designed to foster meaningful conversations and lasting connections. Rather than existing as a single gallery opening, Collectors and Martinis evolved into a month-long cultural experience that celebrated both artistic excellence and the people who make New York City's creative community so dynamic.

Known for his distinctive approach to visual storytelling, Antonio Garcia creates work deeply rooted in vulnerability, identity, memory, and belonging. As both a visual artist and poet, he draws inspiration from authentic human interactions and everyday conversations, transforming ordinary moments into powerful works of art that invite reflection and emotional connection. His paintings encourage viewers to slow down, discover the beauty within life's simplest experiences, and recognize the shared emotions that unite us all.

Each artwork served as an invitation to engage with stories that felt both deeply personal and universally relatable. Garcia's ability to blend poetic sensitivity with compelling visual narratives created an exhibition that resonated with collectors and first-time viewers alike, offering a thoughtful exploration of the human condition through color, composition, and emotion.

The exhibition officially opened on June 3 with a lively Opening Event, welcoming guests for an evening filled with art appreciation, networking, and celebration. The opening introduced visitors to Garcia's newest collection while setting the tone for the month ahead, creating an atmosphere where meaningful conversations naturally emerged alongside the artwork.

The experience continued with Live Painting, Networking, and Collector Viewing Events held on June 10 and June 17. These evenings offered attendees a unique opportunity to witness Antonio Garcia's creative process in real time while engaging directly with the artist. Collectors, fellow creatives, and supporters of the arts connected through thoughtful discussions about inspiration, artistic practice, and the evolving relationship between artist and audience. The live painting sessions added another dimension to the exhibition, allowing visitors to experience not only the finished works but also the passion and process behind their creation.

The exhibition concluded with a special Closing Event on June 24, celebrating the success of the month-long showcase and the vibrant community it had cultivated throughout its run. By the end of the exhibition, Collectors and Martinis had become more than a gallery presentation, it had established itself as a welcoming space where creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange flourished.

Curated & Hosted by Katrina Chiovon, the exhibition reflected a thoughtful vision centered on accessibility, artistic excellence, and community engagement. Through carefully planned programming and an inviting atmosphere, Chiovon created an experience that encouraged visitors to build meaningful connections with both the artwork and one another. Her dedication to supporting artists and cultivating cultural dialogue played a defining role in the exhibition's success.

Throughout its month-long residency at Fandi Mata, Collectors and Martinis celebrated Antonio Garcia's remarkable artistic voice while providing multiple opportunities for collectors and visitors to engage with his work in memorable and meaningful ways. The combination of gallery exhibitions, live painting experiences, networking events, and collector viewings demonstrated how contemporary art can become a catalyst for conversation, inspiration, and community.

As the exhibition came to a close, it left behind more than a collection of exceptional artworks. It left a lasting impression on everyone who attended, reminding us that art has the extraordinary ability to connect people across different backgrounds and experiences. Collectors and Martinis stands as a testament to the enduring power of creativity, proving that the strongest exhibitions are those that continue to inspire long after the gallery doors have closed.
