Artist Bio
Harif Guzman
Born in Venezuela in 1975, Harif Guzman has lived a life defined by movement, traveling through Colombia, Puerto Rico, New York, Fort Lauderdale, and California before establishing himself as a contemporary artist. Influenced by skate culture from an early age, he developed a strong sense of aesthetics, community, and identity that continues to shape his work.
Beginning his artistic career in the 1990s, Guzman drew inspiration from the skate and street scenes of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. His multidisciplinary practice blends collage, assemblage, painting, sculpture, murals, and mixed media, transforming found objects into powerful works that reflect themes of urban life, identity, humor, and social commentary. His work echoes the traditions of artists such as Kurt Schwitters, Robert Rauschenberg, and Jean-Michel Basquiat while maintaining a distinctive Pop and street-art aesthetic.
